Morocco has about 12 big cities but the most important among them are the capital Rabat, Casablanca, Tangiers and Marrakech. Casablanca which means ‘white house’ in Spanish is often said to be the economic capital of Morocco. Moroccan cities are famous for their meandering Souks and culturally full narrow lanes and alleys.

Morocco is also a known in the world for its beautiful carpets and rugs. These rugs are available in various colours and mostly are dyed in natural colours which lend a higher degree of authenticity. Morocco is famous for these rugs and carpets but special attention needs to be paid to what carpet you buy as a lot of carpet workshops use child labour.
Morocco is famous for its Souks. Souks are street markets and are found in almost every city and town in Morocco. You can buy a variety of things in Moroccan souks like traditional footwear, traditional ornaments which are very attractive and quite different from any other ornament. You can also purchase some traditional spices and buy some real Moroccan food which is absolutely irresistible.
